Luxembourg Presidency

A briefing of the European Parliament lists the priority dossiers for the second semester of 2016, when Luxembourg will take over the Presidency of the Council of the EU.

Important items on the EU agenda in the second half of 2016 are:

  • Better Regulation
  • Review of the Europe 2020 strategy
  • European Agenda on Migration
  • EMU Four Presidents’ Report
  • TAXE Final recommendations (LuxLeaks inquiry)

Furthermore, two important summits will take place:

  • Post-2015 Agenda / Sustainable Development Goals Summit (September)
  • COP21 Summit (December)
