Europacafe 31/5: European security – a tango for two
Who is responsible for Europe’s security?
Europe has recently experienced terrorist attacks and there is an increased feeling of a “new security situation”. The EU, more than NATO has been called upon, to meet the threats. At the same time, cooperation and common solutions are called upon between these two institutions.
In July 2016, NATO holds its summit in Warsaw, and the EU is currently developing its Common Foreign and Security Policy (CFSP) as well as a new global strategy.
– Will these two institutions find a common ground to serve the European security needs?
– How will a NATO/non-EU member country like Norway most efficiently find and uphold its security interests and needs in a NATO/EU-framework?
