TTIP vote Parliament uncertain

The deal between S&D and EPP on the inclusion of the Investor-State Dispute Settlement in TTIP, struck last week in advance of the INTA vote on the Parliament’s position on TTIP, will not hold for the plenary vote. The S&D group yesterday reasserted its initial position, stating that ISDS cannot be included in TTIP. In the report adopted by INTA, the parliament backed Commission proposals for a permanent investment court.

On 10 June, the Parliament will vote on the TTIP recommendation during its Plenary Session, but the outcome – in particular whether the Parliament will call to exclude ISDS in TTIP – is now uncertain.
