The European Parliament Committee on International Trade, INTA, has voted on their position on TTIP.
The vote was on recommendations to the European Commission on TTIP, and thus only gives advice. However, because the Parliament will have to approve the final negotiation text, it gives the Commission an insight in what might or might not pass in the Parliament regarding the final text.
The most important aspect of the recommendation is the Parliament’s position on the Investor-to-State Dispute Settlement mechanism (ISDS).
Following a compromise between EPP and S&D, the Parliament backs plans by Commissioner Malmström to create a permanent and public international investment court.
